Who says you can’t start over and pursue your passions later in life? I’m Leslie Wardrop, an artist who recently relocated from Boston to Hilton Head Island. While I once painted primarily with oils and acrylics, I’m now completely captivated by watercolors. There’s something magical about the process—it feels like having a silent partner who constantly surprises me, revealing unexpected beauty with every brushstroke.

In another life, I was accepted into art school, but financial realities led me down a different path into the business world. For many years, I worked as a Sales Manager and Trainer—until one day, that chapter ended. And as they say, “when one door closes, another opens.” What opened for me was the freedom to spend more time with my paintbrushes and the luxury to create.

Now, I still pinch myself when someone at a gallery or art fair asks, “Are you the artist?” I’m proud to say—yes, I am!

I’ve exhibited in six galleries, hosted my own solo show, and received several awards along the way. With over 150 paintings sold (including dozens of commissions), I continue to find endless inspiration in the beauty of nature. After years of painting familiar New England barns and snowy landscapes, I’ve embraced the palm trees and marshes of the Lowcountry. The soft light, tranquil mornings, and simple pleasures of island life now fuel my creativity.

I feel deeply blessed to share my vision—and the joy I find in each painting—with you.

Would love to hear from you!
