Who says you can’t start over and pursue your passions later in life? I’m Leslie Wardrop, an artist from just outside Boston, MA. While I once painted with oils and acrylics, I am now completely addicted to watercolors. There’s something magical about the process - it’s like having a silent partner who surprises me with each stroke, revealing the unexpected beauty of the final piece.
In another life, I was accepted into art school but financial realities led me down a different path into the world of business, where for many years I was a Sales Manager and Trainer. Then one day, I wasn’t. As they say – “when one door closes…” What opened for me was more time with my paint brushes and the luxury to create! Now I revel in being at a gallery or craft fair and hear someone say “are you the artist?” Sometimes I have to pinch myself thinking “Wow – I am a full-time artist.”
I’ve proudly exhibited in six different galleries, even hosting my own show, and garnered a few awards along the way. I am a member and have exhibited in both the New England and Rhode Island Watercolor Societies. I am also a member of the Franklin Art Association. With over 100 paintings sold, I’m continually inspired by the beauty that surrounds us in nature. Now it’s the simple pleasures of the sunrise, a walk along the beach or just the way the light hits an open field that fuel my creativity. I feel very blessed to share these visions (at a very affordable price) with all of you
